LA Rally, March 26, 2011

It was a crowded Pershing Square today in LA.  I heard that 20,000 to 30,000 people attended.

Major union leaders were present and spoke to the crowd.  LA band, Ozomatli also performed.

I didn't prepare well for today's rally.  I didn't have my good camera ready.  I didn't get pictures, and the audio is not good on my video. Apologies.

The video that I did get, I really love.  It's Tom Morello's entire performance.  I hope you all enjoy it.

My Afternoon with the Koch Brothers

I spent this afternoon in the company of 1000+ protesters at the entrance to the Rancho Las Palmas Resort in Rancho Mirage, California.  Inside, the Koch brothers were meeting with other billionaires and supposedly House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Herman Cain.

It was a great day for a protest.   Many great progressives spoke including Jim Hightower, Rick Jacobs of the Courage Campaign, Common Cause President and former Illinois Congressman Bob Edgar, as well as former marine core veteran, Joel Francis.

We were even heckled by a rollerblading Andrew Breitbart.  I personally believe that his presence signifies the threat the plutocrats feel from the civil unrest brewing in this country.

More information can be found on in the report filed at Firedoglake.  25 protesters were arrested.  News agencies were present including RT, and local news paper, The Desert Sun.

The following are video and pictures from the event:
